Privacy policy Calm Flight
As of 9 October 2026. Provider: Schweizerpunkt GmbH, Switzerland.
In short
Calm Flight does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting software and no server of our own. We do not learn who uses the app.
What stays on your phone
- The airports you chose, the departure time and your saved routes.
- The most recent weather reports, so you can read them without internet.
- How often you did an exercise, the chosen language and whether you follow a flight live.
This data does not leave your phone. If you delete the app, it is gone.
Location
Only when you tap "Airports near me" does the app ask for your approximate location. It is compared with the built-in airport list on the phone only and is neither stored nor sent.
Weather requests
For the weather report your phone contacts these public services directly:
- aviationweather.gov (NOAA, US National Weather Service): the codes of the two airports are sent; on the Weather tab the coordinates of the visible map area (for the pilot reports, only for “Now”).
- api.open-meteo.com (Open-Meteo): the coordinates of points along the route and the flight time are sent; on the Weather tab the coordinates of points in the visible map area and the chosen hour.
- api.adsb.lol (adsb.lol, only when you follow a flight live or tap "Just departed or arriving?"): the flight number or callsign you enter, or the coordinates of the two airports, are sent.
As with any internet connection, these services see your phone's IP address. No data about you is sent along. Their own privacy policies apply to how they process it.

This website
The website thecalmflight.com runs on a server of Schweizerpunkt GmbH in Switzerland. Access goes through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA): Cloudflare establishes the encrypted connection (TLS) and forwards requests to our server through a Cloudflare Tunnel. In doing so, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of the request under its own privacy policy, also in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Like every web server, our web server logs each request with IP address, time, requested address and browser identifier (user agent). We use these logs only to run and secure the website, do not analyse them otherwise and delete them after 14 days at the latest.
We set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising services; the pages load no content from other servers, fonts and images are served from the same website.
If you choose the language by hand, your browser remembers this choice locally (localStorage). It is not sent to us.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website).
Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form (thecalmflight.com/contact/), our server sends your name (optional), your email address, the chosen topic and your message, together with the language of the page and the time, by email to Schweizerpunkt GmbH. The email goes through our own mail server in Switzerland; your IP address is not in it.
We use these details only to answer your request, do not pass them on, and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed for that, after 12 months at the latest. The message is not stored on the web server.
To protect against abuse (at most 5 messages per hour), the server keeps a hash of your IP address, not the address itself, for one hour at most.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your request).
